Zitat von m5tourregHi Stevie,
interesting story but was it just a 'red E34 M5-model' or was it one of the
20 'hand-made' and NUMBERED special models that followed the -real-car ???
I take it that you do NOT remember the actual number but did it have a number at all ??? it should even have plague reading "20 Jahre BMW Motorsport GmbH" -
The base-plate on which the model is mounted has a numbered BMW Motorsport plaque, but smaller then the plate I saw when I rode as a passenger in 06/20 last spring. It didn't strike me as unusual at the time because a lot of miniature cars have numbered series in special colours, except that I thought the total of 20 was probably a lie, and the black wheels were not my taste. I don't remember if the M5 model itself has the number as I've never taken it of the baseplate, and don't remeber what the 5mm licenseplate says. I was 15 or so when I bought the model, and didn't even know what a 20-Jahre was....
Same issue with my 1:18 yellow M3 by Minichamps, I only learned years later on eBay that it is a very sought-after 25-Jahre motorsport gift, worth many times it's original value. Unknowingly bought that 2nd-hand by chance as well, but at the MECC in Maastricht
