Engine is aparently damaged, and so is the gearbox. Body has roof damage....

I can't afford it due to a client going bankrupt, but someone please please please save this car!!!!

  • There are already 18 bids for the seats; so they will be sold anyway :(

Yes, it is very sad for all e34 m5 friends to see this M5 going out of life in pieces...

But to save THIS, somebody will need a huge amount of money at the current conditiion :(

  • This is really sad. i'm just restoring one, and mine is not so bad broken as this one, but i "litteraly" see the paybills flying in from everywhere.

So restoring this one would not be cheap.

    sad, sad, sad... :(

How many 20 year's editon are there left now?

  • GD63491 is indeed one of the 20x "20 Years BMW Motorsport"-edition-cars.
    -
Too bad, with the engine and gearbox gone, this car would seem to be beyond any chance to be saved and consequently the interior is for sale,
    not really surprising.
    -
I even have a factory-built-sheet for the specific car, prod. date 15.10.1992,
engine no: 60230432, gearbox no: 0002101AOJ and apparantly this car was first registered as late as > 03.04.1995 (!!) -
    -
    VERY SAD ! BUT THAT'S LIFE !

  • these cars are identified by the VIN, some of these cars do not have the
running number any more (or never had) -
if this specific car has a running number XX/20 I do not know BUT it wud be
VERY interesting to find out, perhaps the guy who researched the VIN can also ask about the running number -
(there are NO records at BMW on which VIN has which running number, if so,
there wud NOT be a problem, BUT 'Ordnung muss sein' is NOT any strong side of BMW :fuck: :burn: )

So do I. And the list of factory retrofit modifications that it never had. Several EBA updates have not been reported as done to this VIN....

    -
what do you mean with 'factory retrofit modifications that it never had'
    which are those ??
what is EBA-updates ? do you have access to the 'Gewährleistungs-Arbeiten'
    archive ??

They all do have a running number, foto of no. 6/20 for example:

  • Cheko@
it is likely that they all HAD a running number and they also ALL came with a
'model-car' with the same running number handed over to the first owner -
    fact is:
    1. some genuine "20 Jahre"-cars that are out there have -lost- their number
    2. I have so far not heard of any confirmation that any one of the 'model-
cars' in fact still exists -
    -
in case you have all the running numbers (they do NOT follow the VIN) then I suggest we can play a simple game
= I give you the VIN and you give me the 'running number' > how about it :) :) that can be fun :) :)

  • Zitat von flipy

my plate is gone on my M5 20 Jahre Motorsport.
the code of mine is: WBSHC91060GD63483
so what number of 20 was the one i have?

    -
    Hi Flipy, :) :) :)
if you wish to play the game it works in the other direction -
I give you the VIN and you give me the 'running number' -
but -ok- :) you can join my team :)
    -
    now then -Cheko-
VIN is GD63483 > your turn > what is the 'running number' ?? :) (please DO surprise me that would make my day :!: )
(I sincerely hope that you can cope with my humour)

You will soon. Photographic evidence. I bought one at Techno Classica in Essen in 1994 or 1995 from a model vendor simply for being an e34 model I didn't yet have. For a price you'd laugh over now, but cleared out a month of paper-run money back then. It was the ONLY e34 M5 model I'd seen to that day and bought it as such, even regretting that it looked like that stupid red car in the back of all e34 catalogs....... I didn't know any better!!! Space becoming a problem I packed all of my model collection through the years, along with a lot of documentation form the eighties and nineties. Never realising it's significance until a few months ago, it should still be carefully packed among hundereds other miniature scale models at my parents house. If I even go near the boxes I will be forced to remove everything, including all of my archive, and I simply don't have space for that right now. Trust me, this has crossed my mind MANY times lately!!!

It's safe where it is and will come out. Eventualy......

  • ok... :kick:

so what number do you need?

  • 540/6@
    Hi Stevie,
interesting story but was it just a 'red E34 M5-model' or was it one of the
20 'hand-made' and NUMBERED special models that followed the -real-car ???
I take it that you do NOT remember the actual number but did it have a number at all ??? it should even have plague reading "20 Jahre BMW Motorsport GmbH" -
