    -92 E34 M5 3,8 chip
    I think that i chip my M5. But there`s a broblem. The new chip is 28 pin,and the original chip is 32 pin. New and original number is same. 0261 200 412.
    Can somebody tell me, what is this 32 pin chip?
    "Normal" chip is 28 pin?????

    bambi-M5: Hast du Erfahrung mit dem Chip? GGf nen Prüfstandsvergleich Vorher-Nachher?!
    Grundsätzlich bin ich solchen Chip´s gegenüber eher skeptisch. Gibt nur wenige Gute... Und noch weniger gute für nen akzeptablen Kurs...

    ich hab von nem chip mit tüv noch nie was gehört, es gibt den einen oder anderen anbieter, der sagt dass er das vom tüv eintragen lassen kann aber dem stand ich sehr skeptisch gegenüber zumal er das am steuergerät löten wollte und das wollte ich auf keinen fall bei meinem machen lassen. für mich kam nur ein steckchip in frage und ich bin sehr gut damit gefahren (im wahrsten sinne des wortes)
    der chip ist bei meinem schon einige monate drin und ich habe eine deutliche leistungssteigerung (vor allem oben herum) gespürt.
    folgende änderungen waren nach dem chiptausch bei meinem emmy:


    -obenrum mehr kraft
    -aufhebung des drehzahlbegrenzers (nicht zu verwechseln mit aufhebung des geschwindigkeitsbegrenzers durchs v-max-modul, welches ich vor dem chip schon drin hatte)
    -zum vergleich: nach einbau des v-max-moduls schaffte er eine endgeschwindigkeit (lt. tacho) von 278km/h bei ca. 7300 und nach dem chiptausch eine endgeschwindigkeit (lt. tacho) von 282km/h bei ca. 7500
    aufm prüfstand war ich nie weil für mich nur zählt, was ich beim fahren auf der autobahn fühle und natürlich auch am tacho und drehzahlmesser sehe.
    und ich weiss nicht mal wo bei mir in der nähe einer ist.
    -seit dem chipeinbau hat er im leerlauf eine drehzahl von ca. 950, vorher warens etwa 150 bis 200 weniger.
    also ich bin rundum zufrieden und hatte niemals irgendwelche probleme.


    noch kurz was zum verkäufer: der schickt nicht irgendeinen chip sondern er schreibt dir ne mail und fragt dich noch mal genau nach der nummer des steuergerätes.

    falls du skeptisch bist, nimm einfach meinen chip, der hat nur den nachteil, dass er noch eingebaut ist und dann müsstest du schon das auto dazu nehmen... :) JOKE...

    Hi Martin. I think that yours chip number 1 267 357 122 is not this chip what i mean. It must start numbers 0 261 200......
    M5 last 3 numbers are 412. Maybe you find this number chip too.

    Your Original-Chip has 32 Pins.Why that?You have something more at your Engine than die German-M5?
    From where is the Chip whit the 0 261 ...Number?I mean the smaler Chip.
    Why you go with your Original-Chip to a BMW-Tuner and then he make you the same
    long Chip with more Power?

    The chip is in ECU. Bosch Motronic

    I HAVE TWO SERIAL NUMBER IN THAT ORIGINAL CHIP : 1 267 358 584 AND 0 261 200 412.
    BUT IT´S REALLY 32 PINS

    D`ont make this!I think you will have Problems when you take the 28 Pins Chip.
    Go to a BMW-Tuner and tell him your Problem.He will make you the right Chip for your M5!
    When you d`ont want make that,let the Original Chip in the DME,because then you can drive normal how the Car is!

    Yes. I think that same. When i take the 28 pin chip, my DME is closed and i dont
    know that there`s 32 pin.
    I think i call the dealer and ask him if he has the correct chip for me.

    sag mal , du bist da oben zuhause - hast du versucht mit Conny in verbindung zu treten ? er mach chip's für e30, 36, und 34

    You can check the type of the (E)EPROM


    Usually the Motronic Chips are 27C256. I already desoldered a lot of them :DD:
    The number behind the chip type (-150) is not so important. It is only the response time of the chip.
    At the ebay site you can see it on the pictures. On the new chip there should be also a number like this under the sticker.


    I am 98% sure it will not work, but you can check the datasheet of both chips and if the pinout is the same it could work.


    Some Tuners use different types of Chips but normaly then they use a adapter PCB, so you can easily change it
